questions on starting to load new (to me) 6mm BR Norma

I bought a used 6mm BR from an estate sale recently (Rem 700 style action with Shilen sleeve and what I was told to be a Hart barrel).
I had been emailing a gentleman from here when I did my chamber cast, but that was a few months ago and I seem to have deleted the emails.

I have worked up several loads (minus powder and primer) of different OALs but i still can't seem to get any brass with seated bullets into the chamber. Is it likely / possible that i would need to crimp before i can get the round through the throat?

I don't know much history on this rifle and i no longer have the chamber castings, but i could do it again i guess.

i believe my die is full length and it looks like it is a tight neck chamber

I believe it's a Norma, I went back and checked the for sale ad and it says "6mm br" but my personal notes include "Norma". I bought it from an estate sale and unfortunately didn't get a whole lot of detail when I bought it

I can assume the barrel has NO stamping on it?
You 'believe' you are using a FL die...what does the die say?
Finally, does a empty case chamber properly?

Answer NO. You have to first determine what you actually have.

correct, the barrel has no stamping on it. i've removed the action from the stock, no details are stamped.

dies do say full length

yes, an empty case will fit into the chamber after sizing with my die. it's once a projectile is seated into the brass that it will not fit

OK.....if you take an empty case and paint the neck with a magic marker.....chamber it and see what the marks look like (if any)

What I would also try is just measure the od of the neck of an empty (re sized) case....then measure a case with the bullet seated in it. I am talking about the OD of the neck. See what you have. The empty case fits and the one with the bullet will not. If that's so then I would assume the neck must be turned.
I hope the above makes sense.
That's providing it is not the bullet engaging the lands preventing the case from chambering. See what the COAL MAX is on a 6mmBR Remington..(Not a 6BR NORMA)...if you can seat a bullet to that depth and it chambers.......
But you really should be able to see the marks on the bullet if it is stopping you from chambering.

When you say "Shilen sleeve"....do you mean a sleeved action? As was quite popular a number of years ago in bench rest rifles.
I am asking because that would lead me to believe this barrel MAY have pre-dated the 6mmNorma BR and could be a 6mmBR Remington.
Just a guess on my part.
