I have a Ruger Blackhawk chambered in 45Colt. How much fitting is required to fit a 45ACP cylinder? I could send it to Ruger for a cylinder but am wondering if I found a cylinder on Ebay or Gunbroker, as to what would be involved to make it work. I know there is cylinder endplay, gap to the barrel and timing for the bolt. But what are the odds that one would "drop in"?

If the 45 ACP Cylinder is made for that model, there should be a minimum amount of fitting.
The worst that could happen is not enough cylinder gap, but I bet it will work.
