Question on bonded bullets

I have an application (not hunting) for which a bonded bullet may be the best choice and am looking for information and recommendations based on experience with bonded bullets.

I found Nosler AccuBond and Swift Scirocco II bullets in 6mm that would work for a 6 BR. The AccuBond is a 90gr bullet with an advertised G1 BC of .376 which is much lower than I would want. Nosler has recently introduced a Long Range version of the AccuBond but it doesn’t look as though they offer a it in 6mm as of now. The Swift Scirocco II is 90gr and .419, still quite low for my application but if the bonded construction works for my experiment I may have another path to follow.

Would either of these bullets shoot on par with say a Sierra 6mm 95gr MatchKing? I don’t require benchrest accuracy, typical MatchKing accuracy will suffice and my question is regarding accuracy. I understand that the lower BCs would result in a trajectory that is not as flat and they would be affected more by the wind but I will address those shortcomings later.

If there is another 6mm bonded bullet I should consider, please make me aware of it. These are the only two I have found.

I have a follow on question for those of you that make bullets. Can a bonded bullet be expected to shoot as well as a non bonded, lead core bullet? Or is there something in the bonding process that cannot be adequately controlled?

If your not hunting, what would be the application for a bonded bullet? A Berger target bullet is pretty tough. So is the Sierra match. Matt

One can assume the reason for specifying a bonded bullet is toughness at the target. Lead free hunting and target bullets are also very tough.

Take a look at some of the monometal bullets. For example, GS Custom has offerings with high BC for weight.
