Question on 6mm

I have a 6mmbr savage, I checked the throat with the hornady system. Seems my throat before the bullet hits the lands is about .527. The lapua 105's mesure in a 2.332 OAL. That is almost .200 free bore. Is that OK? I can't get V-Max to even come close to .020 off the lands and groves.

If it shoots good it's ok. If not, you may want that set back.

My 6BR Savage 12F is chambered with a long throat. OAL with a Lapua 105 is 2.357". That is right where I want it for 105-108 bullets.

Does anyone know if they chamber the 8" twist barrels differently than the 12" twist barrels?
