Question for the Savage PTA shooters

I was wondering what torque shooters where ending up with?
Stan states to use an accurate load well how do you know it's an accurate load if you do know the accurate torque setting for the third screw? Just too much time on my heads and letting my mind wonder. TIA, Alan

You can/ will work up an accurate load even before you start playing with the torque settings on the action screws. Once you develope a good load, start playing with the torque to fine tune your groups.

That would be easy if I had bought the whole gun and not just an action.

What Im saying is once you complete your build. Tighten the action screws to factory recommended specs, then develope your load, THEN adjust action screw torque to fine tune accuracy.

All mine ended up 40 on the front two screws, and 30 on the tang screw.

I might add most state this is not necessary. I do it any way.

My rifles are so accurate I don't mess with them. The above settings worked, I never did try any other settings.

Just don't overtighten them.
