Question for RPR owners / reloading

i Have a question for Ruger precision rifle owners that reload. I have a 6.5. I am trying to find a magazine that allows for a longer bullet length. The magpuls that come with it just fit the factory ammo. With the tips litterally touching the plastic. I bought a magazine from accurate mag, It fits nice, It looks nice, with plenty of room. For a long bullet length. Problem is, Bullets wind feed. They get stuck in the bolt when cycling. I’ve already tried modifying. Did anybody know a mag that will work?

Thanks

The Magpul AC mags I have required a bunch of work to get them 100%. Now they work awesome, but not without fiddling. Straight AICS are your best bet if you want to buy. But with a creedmoor, you should have lots of room left in the magazine.

anyone try the standard M1A mags? They fit well in mine, but I haven't tried cycling creedmore rounds through them yet.

I've been using the Magpul PMAG AC Magazine AICS Short Action 308 Winchester Polymer Black 5rd mags with my reloads in 6.5 Creedmoor with absolutely no problems or malfunctions. Work great for 2.860" OAL and with no rattles like the more expincive SS mags.

That being said I am open to try the American Rifle Company 10 rd mag. And I do have 0ne ACIS $75 mag, but I don't use it much because it does raddle a lot especially when it gets down to 3rds and less.

Problem is, Bullets won't feed.
I fixed it for you.

I wouldn't recommend running out and getting ARC mags. They are more people having problems with them than not. For some they work great, others not at all, very fickle magazines. I would look at AICS or Accurate single stack magazines. They the standard and often help resolve feeding issues. The Accurate magazines have slightly longer internal length. But again, you should not be running into OAL issues on 6.5 Creed in a 308 magazine.

I'm with Delfugeo on the ARC mags. I don't own any but I have seen them be hit or miss in functioning properly. I own magpul, acis, alpha 2, and my favorite accurate mags. Brownell's has accurate mags at a good price and they are solidly built.

I’ve played with the Magpul Sr Pmags that shipped with my RPR, AI 10 and 5 round mags, 5 round Accurate mag, and 5 and 10 round Magpul AICS mags and didn’t have an issue with any of them- other that the supplied SR Pmags wouldn’t allow use with my handloads.
