Question for Giraud case trimmer owners

For those of you that have Giraud case trimmers, how have you set them up for loading various cartridges? Are you only using one cutter and separate cartridge holders? One cutter per caliber with different cartridge holders? Or one cutter and cartridge holder for each different cartridge?

I've pretty much decided on the Giraud, now I just need to see how much the bill is gonna hurt. I'm thinking the best way to go is probably one cutter per caliber, but am just trying to decide if those two extra cutters are a worthwhile expenditure.

Thanks!

cutters are expensive, but worth it not to have to go through the adjustment process, eating up expensive brass. Larry in western Ky.

I have extra cutter for each case that I trim. Hard to even use one per caliber, as an example the differences in the wall thickness between 6.5x47 and 6.5x284 still necessitate a slight adjustment to put the perfect chamfer on the mouth.

One cutter and case holder for each case I trim. Yes, the extra bucks add to the total,,, but well worth the expense.

You will be happy with the Giraud,,, only draw back is how quick it is so it will spend more time sitting than getting used :-)

Now if only neck turning was as fast

Get a separate blade assy and case holder for each caliber, add Forster or Hornady die lock rings to the case holders so no adjusting after a switch.

Guess I'll be the odd one out... I have one cutter per caliber, and haven't seen the need for another between 6 BR, 6 Dasher, .243 Winchester...

+1 on getting proper lock-rings. I put Forster rings on all my dies for use in my Co-Ax press, so I have plenty of the regular dies like Hornady, Redding, RCBS to put on my Giraud shell-holders.

one per cartridge. I just don't want to hassle with those minor adjustments every time I change and have to create scrap brass.

Giraud trimmers are great. I use cutters an holders in .308 and 6.4x47 Lapua. I also use the meplat trimmer for the 6.5x47 (142 smk) and Whidner pointer. Not using the following and will sell it as a package
