Question for FFL Dealers

I made a deal on a pistol going to another State. I had him tell his FFL to email me a copy of his license, he sent me the first 3 numbers and the last 6 I think. I checked it out on the EZ check system at BATFE, and the name and address on the license is different than the name and send to address.
What to do?

If it were me, I think I'd contact the FFL dealer that you were given the numbers for and see whats up and if he even knows anything about it. I definately wouldnt send it to an addy other than whats on the actual FFL.

I have an FFl. The bill to,ship,to are two different addresses. That is not a problem.... Not having the entire license #, particularly with a pistol would bother me.. His FFl # should look like this 1-58-121-011-4A-40219.......
Call the the FBI at this # verify 877-324-6427.
Something sounds a little strange here.....

The FFL address and the shipping to address must be the same. Most FFLs will over write on the FFL for File copy and mail a copy of the FFL to the shipper. Then The shipper can contact the FFL verification number to confirm the FFL. The seller should keep the copy of the FFL and bill of sale for verification purposes. The receiving FFL should get a copy of the sellers government issed photo ID. The FFL will enter the sellers info and the firearms info into his/her A&D book. When the buy passes the NICS requirements and the transfer is completed the FFL will enter the buyers information in the A&D book. The trans action is assigned a identifier number identifies the transaction number and year.

Sorry for the confusion, my Premises Address is listed on the FFl and a separate Mailing Address is also, guns go to and from the Premises Address.....all bills and correspondence go to the Mailing Address. They are in separate cities
