Question about new project

I'm considering having Mickey Coleman rebarrel a M700 LTR for me in either 6BR or 30BR. The guns would be primarily a coyote/target rifle but would also be used for white-tail at moderate ranges.

My question is two part: which BR case would you prefer/why and does anyone have information or load data for 30BR using bullets weight greater than 125gr. I'd be interested in seeing what it would do with a 150gr.

Thanks

I would go with the 6 or the 22 br for Coyotes. The 30 would have to much of a rainbow trajectory. IMO anyway. I would make whatever chamber use the Lapua brass.

Hi Reynolds:

My suggestion is the 6 BR, but the 22 BR is quite a cartridge. Mickey Coleman is as good as they come. DO NOT CONSIDER USING ANYTHING OTHER THAN LAPUA BRASS. The current Lapua 6 BR brass is the best and most consistent brass I have ever seen. If you go with a 6 BR ask Mickey for a .272" neck and the Lapua brass is ready to load.

I have a 6 BR on a Savage 12 BVSS-S action by Mickey and it is beyond my expectations.

Good luck, ReedG
