Quantico 600 yrd IBS

Willie Williamson and Quantico shooting club hosted two 600 yard matches this weekend..Saturday's match went ok, needed some work, both myself and the other shooters chipped in lended a hand and gave some positive criticism, Sunday's match had a few more shooters and went a little smoother. Willie, Steve, and Rayna are all putting forth a great effort to get a nice match up and running, and would appreciate some attendance and support. Anyone close to the Virginia area there will be another IBS points match on Aug 29th. Hope to see you there. Also feel free to contact Willie with any questions about the match his number is 703-615-1297, or pm me with any simple questions(as I'm not a club member, just a shooter) Thanks look foreward to shooting with any of you.

....

Love how this starts up after I sold my LR bench gun....

I've always been blessed with such lovely timing.

I had a good time, the next matches are August 29th and 30th come on out people. Get enough shooters maybe Willy can make something happen for September and October or more.

Eric and myself (Tj) were recently asked to help run and or take over the 600 yard Quantico matches for the 2016 season. With a lot of thought and weighing out the pros and cons we are sorry to inform, who ever it may concern,we will not be taking over next year. Below is a link to a post of some changes being made, being the icing on the cake. We hope to see you all travel a little further to Piedmont sportsman and or Whitehorse both which are outstanding matches to attend with even better people. Thanks.

Sincerely,Tj Stroop

This is the instruction I received from the club. Important point is "Once vetted its good for a year".

If you're a club member, it's a once a year issue. I will clarify if non-members shooting matches can also be vetted for the one year period. If so, I don't think it's unreasonable to a military base to want to vet people driving through their gates with guns and ammo.

"PMO is requiring that all Civilians in the club be vetted through a background check. Attached above are the forms that need to be filled out as well as the instructions. Please print them out and send via mail. DO NOT SEND THROUGH EMAIL!! Must be in by the 23rd of Oct.

Any questions please call office or email. Thank you for your patience as this is a new requirement and will continue. Once vetted its good for a year. You can still bring guests and they do not have to be vetted ahead of time unless it is a match. The guards at the gates will have a master list of those cleared to come onto base and use the ranges. It will be updated weekly. The sooner you send in your paperwork the quicker you will have access. "
