QL Installation Qestion

I bought a new laptop yesterday for my loading room. I want to install QuickLoad on it, but it doesn't have a CD drive. I tried moving all the files from the installation disc to a thumb drive, but when I try installing by actuating the "setup.exe" file, I get a message saying it needs to be installed from the CD, and closes. Has anyone tried this and been able to make it work?

You should be able to use something like ImgBurn to convert a CD to an .iso file. You can then treat that .iso file as a CD drive. I haven't specifically done it for QL, but I have done that with other programs.

Ding ding ding we have a winner. Trust me you will use it more than you ever thought.
X2!

Same here, my newest laptop didn't have a CD drive, most new ones don't, so I bought a external CD drive from Best buy. They're pretty inexpensive and I've used it a lot more than I ever thought I would

Ya, the external CD drive was my first thought. But being somewhat tech savy, it pisses me off that I can't figure out how to do it using the thumb drive.

It's 100% doable with what I described above. It's free and you don't need to spend $15 on a drive.

Convert the CD to an .iso and you can put that .iso file wherever you want, even on your thumb drive.

When you right click on an .iso, you can mount it, and it becomes a Virtual CD Drive.

Here is an .iso file:

That worked perfectly and as you said, it was very easy and free. Thank you very much for the help!!!
