Q for Members: Add Specials, Group Buys, Bargain-Finder Sub-Topic?

Guys,
On some other Forums there is a special section that lists special bargains, time-limited promos, current "group buys". In addition, some forums have a "bargain-finder" section where users can post good deals they have found on the internet and in catalogs.

I've personally found some very good deals in the Bargain-finder section on other boards. What do you think?

Understanding that we don't want to create a bunch of new categories in the Forum, do you think we should create a separate category for Bargains, Product Specials, and Group Buys?

There seems to be a very positive response.

However, this area will only work if Forum members and Vendors supply the info. This will be a user-driven area. Moderators may contribute an item now and then, but the area is basically for member posts (with "promo" notices from site sponsors).

Are the votes still positive, understanding that the bargain items are to be found and posted by members, rather than moderators finding the deals and posting them?

I still like the Idea myself! With Working for a living, Reloading, shooting at the range, and rasing 2 kids I don't have a lot of time to search around for deals, or rebates. There is a lot of great gentelmen on this site that are retired. Also they seem to know where all the best deals are. This would be a great thing for guys like myself that haven't earned the right to retire yet, and too save a few bucks in tough economic times is always a good thing! I would post any kind of deal or rebate I learn about.

Hopefully it's not strictly members only driving this. Seems like the FORUM BOSS of a site of this quality with this many active members should be able to prod some of the vendors for a little participation.
But YES, this is a good idea.

For instance, Midwayusa has some great promotion deals going on, up to $100 off a $650 or more order. Some forum members might not see these things without other members bringing it to light.
