I just wasted a couple hours trying to rebarrel a 300 WSM with a PTG Go-Gauge for 300 WSM. My bolt face is is .540 but the PTG go-gauge rim measures .545. I removed the extractor and the ejector when it first didn't seem to fit, and then push fed the go-gauge into the chamber to head space the barrel. After having a heck of a time trying to get a consistent feel for go vs no-go I looked closer and noticed the problem. Anyone else have this issue with PTG go-gauges being proud vs bolt face diameter?
Any advice? Maybe some fine sandpaper to take 5/1000 off the side of the rim of the go-gauge???
