PTG blueprinted remington

Hi

I asked this question to PTG, but believe I will have a faster answer here.

Someone know the threads dimensions on these blueprinted remington action they sell, if by chance they are 1.062"X16 or 1.072"X16.

Thanks

When I bought one several years ago it was 1.062”x16 I’m sure you can order one oversized if you call but I don’t deal too much with PTG

1.062”x16. And don’t waste your time with one of their BP actions. I bought one and it showed up horrible. Had to go back in the lathe, had .0025” runout on action face, one bolt lug had very minimal contact, and had To time the bolt. After chambering, the bolt handle wouldn’t clear a leupold 30mm scope. Had to thin down the bolt handle.

I think they are generally standard rem tenon spec. I don’t believe They single point them they just run a tap in. Never know with PTG though.

This is what PTG says for their blueprinted action [not the Bomber]
  • Raceway is opened using a PTG guided raceway reamer
  • A PTG Remington Gen II receiver reamer is used to put I.D to proper diameter and to center line, true receiver lugs, and make receiver lugs and action face parallel.
  • A PTG piloted tap mandrel is used to chase the threads making them more true to center line.
  • A PTG bolt is fitted to the action, and the face of the bolt is trued while in the action.
