PRVI 22-250 to 6XC

For those of you using PRVI 22-250 brass, how does it compare to the Norma 6xc Brass? I was looking at this, as the brass I usually use besides Norma, Winchester, is frickin unobtanium right now.

I was planning on using the Tubb die to reform, just because that's what I have.

Thanks

Norma is top of the line... unfortunately, PRVI is at the other end of the scale.

Damn. I guess that's why it's half the price. I have great success with Winchester 22-250 and was hoping this was the same kind of deal. Several cleans high x-count cleans at 600 (shooting prone not F-class) with the Winchester, but like I said, you can't find it right now.

Thanks

I've had good success forming from Lapua 22-250 brass, but now I have Norma 6XC brass I was lucky enough to find.

MysticPlayer will likely chime in soon, he is using PRVI 22-250 brass to form for his new 6XC project.

There were chatting about it in that link

Edit ** I see you have already responded in that other thread.

PRVI 22-250, shoulder bumped with a 7BR die, COW fireformed outside neck turned then loaded with the Hrn 105gr BTHP, fully formed case

Dunno about being junk brass???? That is a test load with 4rds... this group is 0.171"

We have too much snow to shoot far right now so playing at 100yds. Tuning loads that are showing promise to shoot in the the 2's 5ds.

Not bad for a mag fed, bipod shot rifle me thinks....

From a clean bore and fireforming loads (see the loaded rd in the pic above), took 3rds to settle the barrel and then the next 3 went into the same hole. I am sure that would be plenty good for club matches while forming brass.

PRVI is very strong and thick brass... I have not found any burrs on the inside of the FH.. maybe it is drilled. Seems to weigh and look a heck alot like another popular brand.

I do outside neck turn as I prefer thinner necks. Annealing is important like any other brand. Otherwise, I just load and shoot with quality components.

Works for me.

Jerry

PS Norma is the best out of the box brass you can buy but once I prep the PRVI, I get the similar on target performance and if I loose the brass at a match, oh well.. Norma is too rich for me to fire and forget.

I found the same with PRVI 308 brass. Some will tell you that all except brand x is "junk", but I place more emphasis in the group at the other end than what brand of brass goes in the chamber.
