Today my daughter Isabel shot 200-13X at 300 yards in F/TR, not once but twice, shooting a .223.

This is only her second match and she ended up with a combined 598-37X! She had the second highest score for the day in F/TR, outscored only by Mr. Clean (aka Johnny Ingram).

I'm not sure if the NRA records on their site are up to date or not, but if they are, it looks like she would have set a new national F/TR mid-range record for both Women and Juniors.

Needless to say I am incredibly proud of her. To shoot two cleans, back to back, amazing. The conditions were not perfect either, winds in the 5 - 10 mph range, somewhat switching for the last match.

Great job! I've been shooting FTR for two seasons and have never shot a clean at any distance, so I'm jealous. You should be proud.

Very special day today! Many proud friends were also on the line that were just ecstatic with Isabel's shooting! I was so happy to have had the pleasure of running her target for the first 200-13x. I couldn't see her but I was so happy to witness at shot 19, wind made a big velocity and direction change. I was holding my breath waiting for the shot. She was patient and make the right call and perfect shot inside the X ring almost center. Final shot I was getting pretty excited... She sent her last shot just right of X ring... Very patient and great shooting! I was on the line for her last relay and second 200-13 for for the day. Winds at this point was very tricky with fish tailing wind with big velocity changes each shot. She hung in there and posted another amazing score.

Very Happy for her and the family!

Thank you Johnny. We are lucky to have the opportunity to be members of Bayou Rifles and get to shoot with such an incredible group of genuinely nice people. :)

This was definitely one of those moments that will put a smile on my face for a long long time.

Isabel was shooting a rifle consisting of a Savage Target Action, Bell & Carlson Medalist stock and a Shilen 28 inch barrel. She used a Protektor rear bag and a Sinclair bipod. The scope is a Nightforce BR 42X with a NP2DD reticle. Rings are Leupold QRW.

Nice work Isabel & Fredrik! We need more women and juniors participating and pushing the guys! :) If it was an NRA-sanctioned event, be sure to have the match director fill out the appropriate paperwork. And Isabel needs to have an NRA #....learned this the hard way.

Let me tell you a little of Fredrik and his "Shooting Family".. Fredrik is one of the most decent human beings you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. Isabel is a wonderful young lady that is one of the sweetest young people you will ever meet. Her brother was pulling targets today and once he found out his sister just scored a National Record he was JUST AS HAPPY as she was! She gave him a BIG hug... It is so nice to see such an excellent family enjoy each other and revel in each others accomplishments! Let me also say that the winds were no "easy ride" today, with switching and gusting and QUICKLY letting off! She did a PHENOMENAL job of staying ahead of the changes, which is a testament to her ability to read the wind and, more importantly, WAIT for the proper conditions to return. She did a GREAT job! AND she did it all with a .223! And I KNOW Fredrik is beside himself with joy, as well he should be!!

Looking at the equipment list. I don't see any thing ( Custom. )
A Savage with a nut a button barrel And a 223.( Amazing ) Dad you proved it all about a Shooter.
Isabel What you did was AMAZING. GO GIRL.

Dad I have had a few moments in my life also. But I don't think they top yours.
Keep her shooting the smiles will be there always. Merry Christmas Larry

It was awesome!
I called this match and was mentally counting her last string. Scared to death to walk over and peek at the scored card, lest I somehow jinx it. When the last shot was fired I had to look as Johnny added up the Xs. 100-7 and 100-6. Huge grin on my face!
For 300 the conditions were tough. Velocity changes from 0-15mph. I watched her double check the flag before breaking every shot.
What Frederick isn't telling you about the rifle is that it isn't even bedded, still has the barrel nut and is using the stock trigger with a replacement Timney finger lever(meaning it is set above 2lbs to be safe).
Shooting off a Sinclair bipod, with a 2lb trigger she bested a field full of seasoned shooters running triggers in the sub 6oz range and using Joypods.
No fluke! She put up TWO 200-13s!

Isabel, that is a most EXCELLENT accomplishment! Congratulations!

I for one am always happy to see Junior shooters (and especially the girls) out on the line, and having fun.

Kicking butt is just an added side benefit.

Well done young lady, and may you have many, many more 10's and X's in your future.

Frank

Great to see your daughter do so well Fredrik, I know you were both very excited!.......Congrats to Isabel, I look forward to seeing you guys in Houston.
