Protektor bags leather types

I am looking to upgrade the front bag on a Rock Br and purchase a new rear bag as well. Protektor seems to be reasonably priced so I have decided to go with their product line.

My question is about the different types of leather offered. I see "All Leather", "Slick Silver", and "Slick Leather" as options.

Which is preferred and why? Is one type better for the front bag vs the rear?

Todd, not sure about all the different types that Protektor offers, save to say that I've been using their No. 13B rear bag now for about 7 or 8 years with zero complaints. It has the solid, reinforced bottom to make it more stable, came filled. It fits in my Pellican case that houses my Sinclair front rest to keep it all in one place for the next outing.

I'm still using the OEM front bag that came with the Sinclair All-Purpose front rest, so can't comment on their front bag offerings.

Call and talk to them. My current bag has a slippery leather that is much more pliable than the 3M stuff that is on my first bag. Maybe that’s the “slick leather.” It was new at the time I ordered.

My first rear bag was a 13b and I often talc'd it when shooting high gloss or synthetic stocks. Next was a bumblebee with leather ears, I use a used dryer sheet under the stock on that one. Just got a flat top with slick silver for my new gun to try out, but haven't shot it yet. Feels pretty good. I ride the stitches with my rear bags and stocks with a constant width flat. Traditional stocks I shoot in 0 gap bags.

Front I use plain leather in my Cowan rest and talc it occasionally. Seb rest has their bags in it.

Fwiw, I tend to notice sticking and poor tracking in the front bag before the rear as it'll try to rock the rest and won't always return to target. I also feel that front bag fill is more temperamental than rear.

Thanks to all. I did call them and decided to start out with the Slick Silver. These bags are very reasonably priced and the person I spoke to on the phone was very helpful. My order shipped today. I will try this set for now an may order another different set to try in the future.
