Problems with reloading Gold Medal Federal Brass

I have almost given up on reloading some Gold Medal Federal Brass for my 223 LRPV. The primers seem to be laquered in and almost impossible to get out. That and the primer pockets are way tight. Am I missing something. I have never crushed a primer until I tried reloading this brass. Is there a remedy other than reaming out the primer pocket?

make sure you use federal match primers as well. As far as decapping use a decapping die if they are stubborn, and secondly if the pockets are that tight give federal a call, maybe they had a bad run. I have never seen this type of brass with this problem.

The .223 Rem. Fed. Gold Medal Match and DCM Match Ammo brass has a sealed primer, punch them out with a decapper pin punch and then treat them like a crimp primer and run them through one of the crimp removers. I found that the second and third firings work best necksized through my bolt guns, then I toss it as I have a pile of it, never have anealed it.
