Print reading in Kindlers "20s" Fifth edition

I've been mulling something larger than the VT, smaller than .222Rem. Examining the prints in the back to see if I'm trying to re-reinvent that wheel, I was giving them the once over twice and then some. It seems I found a few major discrepancies in dimensions, some by PTG and some by TK himself . . . Or so it appears to me. No it ain't brain surgery, just simple math and occasional trig that i did daily for 20 yrs or so. Anyone else notice anything amiss?
Not bored yet, just some ruminations while i put off eating again today.

Why wouldn’t you just go with a 20 Vartarg Turbo? Good brass and easy forming...if you want it bigger then a 20 Vartarg, I can’t think of much negative about it.

You are right. It does hit the area I'm trying to hit. However the Javelina fell in there very neatly. However, it seems to be nearly obscure w a paucity of goog hits.

How about the 20 PPC no neck turn with Lapua brass. Mine is awesome for prairie dogs and paper punching !

JCM, have considered that but pwdr consumption and volume of brass needed, even w my PMC 7.62x39 large primer stash, I'm wanting enough for 7 days of skwirl shooting - buying bore cleaner by the gallon.
I'll be driving from IN so need to make the trip worthwhile.
A vtturbo w longer neck or a Tac w shoulder pushed back a bit and longer nk is closest to my wheel house after my gander of prints at rear of 5th Ed. I was just a bit surprised at some of the discrepancies. Time will tell... Fun, ain't it?!

Maybe the 20 Practical would float your boat. I really like mine.

I really Want, not necessarily need a sharper shoulder and nk of min .350.....for whatever reason.

I’ve not any direct experience with the Javelina. While it is a neat cartridge, I opted not to do it beacuse of the forming process, which sounded like too many operations for something I wanted to hunt with. I ended up with a 20 Vartarg and a straight up 17 Remington. One is a miser the other was pure speed. If you don’t care about the cool 30 degre shoulder, I bet either a 20-222 or a 20 Practical would work pretty well for your needs.

In all honesty, the most successful and accurate small caliber varmint cartridge I've built and used is the .204 Ruger. Commercially available brass combined with the 40 gr. VMAX over AR Comp. Lots of velocity and explosive results on PDs. Reasonably inexpensive, no forming steps, easy to develop loads for, fairly easy on barrels and a 30 degree shoulder. Although it's not a long term forming project, you can do some testing then get ready to go shoot.
