Primos Turbo Dogg

Anyone have any experience with the Turbo Dogg call from Primos? I'm thinking about getting one. Barlow

I have one and have gotten dogs with it. If the dogs in your area haven't been called a million times it should work, plus it has a section where you can add your own sounds to whats there.

I have used a mouth call for years and finally decided to get a Turbo Dog. I have had good to great success with mouth calls. I have only tried it twice and have had no success with the Turbo Dog so far. It operates fine and sounds good (at least to me). It is too early to say I don't have faith in it but I am beginning to ask myself the question..........

I couldn't stand it, I bought one today at Fleet Farm! Just tried it out, and remote worked well at a good 100 yards and it's about 0 degrees. I'll try it out tomorrow, it's supposed to warm up a little. Thanks , Barlow

I hope it works out for you. I owned 3 of them and they were close to worthless in actual use since not one would connect past 20 yards. Stick it in tall grass, lost connection, put it out at 40 yards...lost connection. There are more then a few posts on those units.
I will admit I did shoot 5 over them when I was elevated as on a knoll and the caller was below me about 50 yards in the bottom land/creeks where there were no blocking grasses, tress etc.
I dumped them all and got a FoxPro in the end.

I read some reviews that said the same thing in regards to the remote. Some guys called the company and got new ones that worked fine. I'll see what happens out in the brush, but it did work well at near 100 yards. Thanks, Barlow

My friend once said "I'm pretty sure PETA manufactured my turbo dawg."

I'd have to agree with him, we called in more stuff with cattle sirens while feeding heifers.

Just buy a foxpro and be done with it. Or a Wildlife Tech, they're great too.

Keep us posted with your field results.
They had sent me a new remote, no change.
They sent me a complete new unit...nothing changed...returned everything 3x
That was 2 yrs ago now, so hopefully those issues are naught with the current units.

Don't forget... It's not the ones you kill that count the most, it's the ones you educate.

Don't be like the TV guys who shoot once & watch the dog run away for 200 yds without operating the bolt. Put some lead out there. That's why I'm a big AR fan. I have lots of ammo.

That only means you need to learn how to shoot better. I don't know what a second shot is myself since everything has dropped on my 1st shot......:)

It's getting deep in here haha. Just in case u don't know sit tight when you shoot one, there's likely another on the way. I sit on every stand 30 minutes wether I have fired a shot or not. Sometimes I even walk up on a hill, shoot one and then call... And it works. I killed a triple last month but they all came in separate from the same direction. That stand lasted 40 min with the first dog down inside 90 seconds.

Good info Clancey, I try not to miss often but I like shooting and I really don't care if they're standing or not. You can't learn running shots without participating.

That's right, if the lead ain't flyin ain't nothin dyin!!

^^ they aint dying if your missing with every running shot....:)
P-dogs make good running shooting practice with out educating a coyote....but heck even I know its fun to nail one the full run at 300 + yards!
My best running shot was one in full afterburner @ 413 yards my pal was running his AR15 mag out on...I dropped it w/my bolt gun in 2 shots and asked him why dumped 11 rounds down the countryside at it when only needed 2 from me...I still give him BS about it!

Back to the turbo dog line now.

If they're running... They're probably educated and a gun shot won't hurt.

Unless they're running in to the call.... Then hitting mute will stop em...

If that doesn't work, saying WOAH about twice as loud as normal speaking
Voice will certainly stop them.

Anyway.... Back to the turbo dawg

Well Barlow as you can see some people like them and some don't, since your remote works as well as both of mine do i would simply give it a try and see what happens. I have found in my area the turbo works best in spring and i go back to my mouth calls for the summer and fall.

When i use it i just do so to get their attention, after that i use a mouth call to bring them in closer. Good luck

Well I gave the Turbo Dogg a good workout this past weekend. It worked perfectly at ranges up to 100 yards from the remote. I used it on 5 setups and called in one coyote. Came to a challenge call, and to make a long story short, I missed. Another educated coyote in a county full of college educated coyotes. The call worked great, easy to use, plenty loud and clear, easy to pack. I wish the remote had bigger letters so I could see without glasses, but there is always something not perfect. Barlow
