Primers

Fire forming 30 7-08 to 7-08AI, 45 Gr RL19, 139 Hornady bullets into the lands. I had 15 CCI Match and the rest were Federal Match, so I used two targets. The CCI group was 1/2 of the Federal Match group. 10 of them were in < 1 inch at 200 yards.

Is this to be expected???? I thought Federal Match were the best. If I change the charge by 1/2 grain can I expect a different result?

The older I get, the less I know!

i have a 6 ppc that i fireformed case using rem 6 1/2 primers, just because i had them, when i went to make a load, i used fed 205m. the rifle would not shoot with fed. i was getting 1/4 inch groups when fireforming. same load with fed it went to over 3/4 inch. i loaded some with rem primers, and it shot less than 1/8 inch at 100 yards. i tried fed agian and ajusted powder up and down and the best i could get was about 1/2. i thought fed where the best to but not in my ppc.
i use fed in my br and just put together a 30 br, those two guns like fed.
