Because factories shut down for a month, because pandemic and riots caused people to hoard early in 2020, and now the presidential election is causing people to hoard more. Its like this every 4 years, this year is worse because of pandemic and riots. Why is there such a shortage of primers???
Because the components are being used to make factory ammo. It's always been that way when there has been shortages of them. Why is there such a shortage of primers???
There is not a shortage in my house.
The way they left those shelves so fast, I really believe they went back to new ammo production. I saw one distributor that showed their stock online, move 600 thousand primers overnight when this first started.Lets be frank, it is hoarding and hoarding alone that has caused this. Yea they were shut down for a month but there were billions and billions of primers on shelves and in dist warehouses and yet they are all gone.
Too embarrassed to say what I've accumulated
Because I have access to over 100,000 primers that I've acquired since the last time this happened (2008-2010) some consider this as being a hoarder. - The "world we live in" causes some of us to "prepare" for history that continues to repeat itself, plain & simple. - Now, I helped folks find ammunition and components throughout this time of shortage. - I gave one of my guys 20 boxes (5 rounds per pack) of 00 12 Ga.buckshot, and a couple of Federal 550 packs of 22 LR ammo when he dropped me off at home on his way headed north for being kind enough to let me ride along after we'd crew-changed. - I realize that not everyone has a big budget to purchase massive amounts of ammo & components. We all have times when we have to tighten our belts and prioritize what we spend the money on after our bills are paid & we put some back in savings or investments. - To me, having the components to load & shoot is a priority.
- Hoarder - NO, Being Prepared & Willing to Help Others - Yes (I sold Thousands of Primers & Powder at Below Cost Face-To-Face with local shooters who are right here on this forum - http://forum.accurateshooter.com/th...face-to-face-louisiana-reduced-price.3994721/

Yes, I kept the 24K of Pistol Primers (because a buyer backed out), But I sold over 15K+ of rifle primers (Of which 9K+ were CCI-450's & Rem 7 1/2's)
most of the guys trying to gouge in this crisis have no clue they cannot ship them. And then there are the guys trying to take advantage of the panic. I saw a guy on another gun board selling Win SP primers for $100 per 1000. Or trying to sell them anyway. You see that every time any sort of panic happens.
I looked in my loading bench cabinet, and saw some with a price of $14.99.
I guess if you don't have any, you'll pay any price to get some.
There's a gun show not far from me this weekend. I'd imagine that will be a real treat with people trying to buy loading supplies.
