Primer Pocket question

NoahbodyImportant

Silver $$ Contributor
It appears I may have "swaged" a little too much on my HXP 30-06 brass.

The CCI #34 primers seat very easy. The primers are not falling out. Anything to be concerned about?

Any other primers that may fit a little more snug?

Is there a tool that will fix the primer pocket making the primers seat a little more tighter?

Thanks in advance.

I use a Lee depriming tool, if I can't push the new primer out with finger pressure I call the case good. This test is used on AR15 and M1 Garand, on a bolt action as long as the primer is a snug fit and doesn't move by taping the case on your bench your good to go.

There are no tools on the market that will "permanently" fix a loose primer pocket. You can try different brands of primers that have a larger diameter.

While I haven't tried them in Large Rifle size, I tried some Tula primers in my .223 A/R as tough to get the normal Reminton 7 1/2's I normally use. It takes some used to seating ther primers because those suckers are TIGHT. If the Large rifle primers are the same - you will once again have the tight primer feel. Perhaps another reader who has used the Tula (or Wolf) large rifle primers can add to this. I don't know if that is unique to their small rifle primers.
