pretty neet review on swfa scopes..

also it's said in another review that the lenses have seats cut out in the tube that they sit in instead of being just glued in place like a lot of other scopes.

just thought i'd share this in case anyone was thinking of buying a swfa scope.

You can't go wrong with one of these. Amazingly clear! Love mine. Super amounts of adjustment. Theses are the bees knees for us poor folks ;)

I bought one of the very first ones geezz at least fifteen years ago, probably more. It came in a plain white box with no markings what-so-ever. I think it was a military over run. At any rate it's been on my .308 hunting rig since I got it. It is super clear, very repeatable adjustments, the Mil Dot is nice and fine. If you plan on doing a lot of ranging of targets (I don't) then get the Mil Rad model. Myself I prefer the .250 MOA adjustments.
If the current ones are as good as this one you won't be sorry. The only downside is the cheesy name. Just don't tell anybody, and don't mention Tasco and you'll be fine. In fact when I first got mine the guys I let look thru it swore up and down I was lying to them!

I have the one reviewed and the 20x fixed version. The 20x fixed version is not as sharp as the zoom. Surprising I know. If you want a fixed one then the 16x42 is the best for higher magnifications.

I've had a 10X on an M1A for about four years now. IK rds down the tube, it's still perfectly zeroed and no issues. Heck of a scope for the money IMHO.

I just got my first SWFA ss scope in the mail yesterday. These things are built like tanks! I've seen them on guns before but never held one. Unfortunately it's a 20x mil-dot which I really wanted a 16x mil-quad but the price was right. I'll definitely pick up a couple more in the near future .

My SWFA scope story (5-20x50):

I have that scope on my hunting rifle. The night before opening morning, my rifle was standing up in the kitchen in our hunting cabin. My clumsy father knocked over my rifle striking my elevation turret on the tile floor. I hunted that season, killing an 8 point whitetail buck 3 days later at 250 yards. After season, I took the rifle to the range to check my come-ups out to 600 yards due to it being below zero (checking dope in the cold) and noticed that I could not adjust my elevation knob. During the fall, the elevation turret got bent and would not adjust. The bending of the turret did not affect the zero of the rifle and I was still able to shoot that deer with a bent turret.

I called SWFA and told them about what happened. The told me to send it in. I sent it on a Tuesday and Friday afternoon I had a brand new scope at my door (no cost to me).

I am unsure how customer service could get any better.

YES! I have looked thru one and they are as clear as anything my eyes can detect! Depending on how clear the optics would look, if they made them in 40+ power, I would replace all my Nightforces with them and still pocket enough money to get another build going! Sadly, they do not offer H-I-G-H magnification. If they did, then what reticle(s) would be offered? But they are awesome! Most "bang-for-the-buck" of any scope out there!
