Stepped out of my shop a couple weeks ago and looked across the pasture and saw an object that wasn’t there earlier.
Walked to the house and picked up my 6.5prc.
150 yards out this cat was just sitting in the field.
135gr Berger vld hunting did the job.
Was wanting to have a full body mount but 1700.00 wasn’t in the budget.

Taxidermist will pay at least $200 if prime and legal, been there done that.

I payed $600 for my full body mount 2 years ago. Turned out great too. $1700 seems very high. A full bear mount around here goes for $2k.

This one was almost $1,600. Guy did an amazing job when you see it in real life but i have passed on several since. Cant afford that all the time. Ive called in about 15 in the last 3 years.

My full mount should be finished up next month they say. Mine cost $1200 but for the size of this cat I couldn't pass it up. Here he is in the back of the truck next to a full grown coyote I shot earlier that morning.

Call me whatever you wish. I tried for many years to shoot a bobcat and finally did. When I walked up to it the first thought that came into my mind was, it's so beautiful, why did I kill it? I had several more chances after that one but, never took the shot. Now, coyotes, that is a different matter.

Ive passed on so many for the reason im not just leaving them there. Dont have the money to stuff everyone so lots of them just get watched untill they decide to walk away from my stand

Impressive. I would shop for a mount, sure is pretty. $1700 seems stupid $.

1700. Is way high like DRK said shop around, even out of state. Look for quality in the taxidermist work especially the head. Should be able to get it mounted for around 800.00. I'm looking for another just like yours to mount so it's laying on my couch.

I always passed on shooting them, but though one day, I'd get one mounted. Then they banned shooting them in my state......
