pressure

question: would the pressure be higher in a 1 in 7 1/2" twist barrel, than it would be in a 1 in 14 twist barrel. powder charge and bullet weight being the same. thanks ric

I believe the faster twist would produce more pressure. Spinning the bullet faster requires more energy then spinning it slowly, just like moving a heavier bullet. The more the bullet resists the path the barrel is forcing it to follow, the more pressure the burning powder will develop. Lets see how others chime in on this. Hanic

hanic is right. the faster twist turns more energy into rotational spin leaving less energy for velocity_____treeman
