Presses for 20 VarTarg Case Forming

I am wondering if the Harrell's turret press is sufficient for forming 20 VarTarg cases or does it require a sturdier model.

When you say "forming 20 VarTarg" are you talking about necking down a 221 Fireball case? You can use a Redding FL bushing die or Hornady FL die with expander ball, both require no more effort with a press than any other FL die so I would say the answer is yes to the Harrell's turret die.

BTW, I highly recommend a Lee Collet Die for neck sizing only after you shoot the first time. Much less runout than a neck bushing die or FL die with expander ball.

Yes - sorry for not being clearer - necking down a 221 case (i lack the patience for the more involved approaches).

size 221 in the 221 die and thin necks to about 12 thousands then size in a vartarg die.. done.. any press will do I use a rockchucker
