Preferred ammo for a s&w model 41

So what is everyone using for ammo for the model 41 I traded for one and wondering what people are using thanks.

Mine liked CCI std vel also! Didn't care for the speeder rounds!! Had some PMC target that shot well!!

CCI SV is my 41's favorite so far. I haven't tried the Norma TAC-22, but that shoots well in all my rimfires.

Another vote for CCI Standard Velocity. Run great in both my Model 41 and my Nelson conversion on a Fusion Firearms frame.

My 41 is a contrarian. It chokes on CCI standard where many 41’s like it. I shoot Eley Target without too many issues. It’s still a fickle gun, though.

Mine shoots just about anything I put in it - reliably. I put in a buffer and bought the 3 spring pack from Wolf. When I was younger I would copy Bob Mundell and take my left trigger finger and see how fast I could dump the mag.

I know this sounds shadetree - BUT - I used small oiler to put a drop or two on top of each loaded mag to shoot the BE Sustained Fire stages. Worked and worked every week at Club.

I will add that I never completely cleaned the gun until it had many, many rounds through it. It started leaving a fired shell in the chamber. I cleaned the chamber really well, then I took the bolt out of the slide, completely disassembled it and cleaned it well. The pistol went back to shooting reliably. If I ever have trouble with it again, I will put a Volquartsen extractor in it.
