Prefered recoil pad

Working on a build that promises to make for a long day in the recoil department. I have a fully adjustable butt stock and cheek piece, so removing the butt plate and removing the thin rubber pad should be easy. My question is what is the preferred pad that I can just screw on and sand to shape the plate. So far, the Kick-eez from Sims seem to get constantly good reviews, but I'm all ears for comments of others pads that you have had good results with.

SIMS makes that pesky, sticky if you don't cut slow, Limbsaver pad, not the Kick Eez..
I've even seen them get so sticky a cat would stick to them...
I much prefer the plain old Pachmayer 325 pad's .......

pachmeyer decelerator is what I would use as the sims melts over time and if you stand the rifle up on carpet you will have a carpet covered butt pad.

We use large 1" limsaver pads and do not grind them to fit. The bigger the pad, the better the function...not looking for pretty on my comp guns. I find kickEEZ pads easy to damage and prefer the function of limbsaver.

Limbsavers are great pads as are decelerators. The main trick with the Limbsavers is NOT to let it heat up while grinding/sanding. I put them in the freezer over night & STOP when they start to heat up a little & put it back in the freezer. I also know of guys who will drop them in a bucket of ice/water slush as they shape them. Either will work. By far the best pad for reducing recoil.

I just contacted sims about my recoil pad leaking and being sticky and they sent me a new one right away. Mine has been on my shotgun for a few years and it was no problem getting a new one if this happens to you.
