Predator hunting by air...

Not my photo - ran across it on another forum and had to share:

I thought the topic was about shooting coyotes from a plane, which my buddy in Montana used to do. With the current price of aviation gas and coyote hides, it doesn't work out too good. JimDee

I've been thinking about setting up my trail cam at a place where the state dumps all the road killed winter deer. There are tons of bald eagles, a few coyotes and what ever else there. My god that's an awsome pic.. tootalloutdoors

That's an amazing photo. Raptors of all types are impressive birds. Here on the Central Coast of California we have a lot of Red Tail Hawks, Kestrels and Kites with an occasional Golden Eagle. I can sit for hours and watch them hunt, soar or mate,in the air).

A couple of years ago I was in my back yard and over the fence into my neighbor's field I saw a Red Tail Hawk struggling to keep in flight with a very large ground squirrel it had just killed. It only made it about 100yds and had to set down again. He wasn't giving up, even when three very large Turkey Vultures landed next to him and attempted to take it away form him. That scene went on for about 10 minutes then I saw the vultures and the hawk immediately take flight, I wondered why. I looked a little further up the field and there was a Coyote making a bee-line for the dead squirrel. The hawk was clearly too small to challenge the Coyote. The Coyote arrived at the dead squirrel, chewed on him for a little bit and then the whole thing went down the throat with the squirrel's tail the last to go down. What a scene.

M700, thanks for sharing the photo with us.

I would be curious to know whether the eagle killed the fox, because those varmints have razor sharp teeth! I can imagine the fox turning around to bite the eagle or struggling and being dropped.

I thought iot was shooting varmints from the air too.
Over here we have guys that hunt pigs into chillers for the game meat market from helicopters.
Govt used to cull asiatic water buffalo from helicopters and some guys in central AUS used to hunt camels from hot air balloons.

Awsome pic

Come up to Alaska sometimes they let us shoot wolves from the plane, or you have to be 300 ft from the plane.UNLESS LIKE NOW THE POLITICALLY UNCORRECT ARE FIGHTING US IN COURT WITH LAWSUITS. Coyotes & Fox can be shot from the plane someday airborne.

To see what actually happened look at:

It's covered by snopes.com as Eagle vs Fox.
