predator callers

I am looking for a Predator caller. The high grade callers are out of my price range. What is good for the money?

I have a Primos Alpha Dog. Great for the money.

An alternative is DIY. Ezell has a nice one. You might give him a call. His PC is dead right now, so no email.

From my own Primos E call experiences Id pass them in a heartbeat and pick up the FoxPro hellfire for $70 more and never have to worry about CS when you need it or one of the FP entry models. Hit the FS forums and there usually are FP for sale from guys going for a higher model.
Black Friday sales at cabelas will have foxpros on sale, this one is by FP w/cabelas name on it, they have a partnership now.
I owned 3 primos ecalls and had issues with remote to base connection past 20 yards on every one of them, that's an issue they have yet to fix, lay it in tall grass and loose connection, put it 60 yards way and pray for it to connect to the base. The screen is way to small & washes out in daylight. Those are my personal field experiences.

The flextone ER1 is a fair caller. I owned this after the primos issues.
This call would connect to 400 yards sitting above it in a valley. The screen is like the primos, small. I killed 23 dogs over the flextone ER1 I had before stepping up to the FP Fury a while back. It connects in tall grass, woods, rocks and I had zero issues with it from 50-200 yards in my sets back then. The price on sale is what it sold for 4 years ago also. Its not that loud overall, but could still hear it at 80 yards though. You cant upload any other sounds to it, but it worked for me.

I haven't had any problems with mine connecting. There are other things that I'd take issue with on it, but I've never had that problem. Get line of sight and I'm good.

Don't buy a Hellfire. Mine is in the mail right now going back to Cabelas. If you do buy one make sure you buy it from somewhere who will take it back. The audio skipped on mine right out of the box, called foxpro and they sent me new sounds. I downloaded them and all was well. Until got out to use it. The damn thing started to skip again. Sounded like a cd skipping. On top of that it had no range at all. Foxpro said 100-150 yards if the call was elevated, 50 yds if it was below you. Well 30 yards away in my line of sight and above my head, it would not work. If have to be with in 20 feet to work. I even spent to extra $100 for the lithium battery pack. Good thing Cabelas has a good return policy. I googled the hellfire problems, what I experienced seems like par for the course.

I bought a Primos Turbo Dogg this winter, it works great and calls coyotes. Have a buddy who went from FoxPro to Alpha Dogg this winter. Barlow

I have given diy and store bought electonic callers a try. for me I prefer open reed mouth calls.I have had 50 times the success rate with open read mouth calls. If coyotes are really responding and commin to a call elctronic is fine. But if not and most the time not here where I live from illegal pickuptruck poachers. Give me a mouth call!
