Is this book good?

I have several short range books. Looking for good long range books.

Its a collection of articles from precision shooting magazine from back in the day. I recommend bryan litz's books

Its dated, but its still a great read. It was and prob still is the only volume dedicated to shooting 1k with half dozen or better disciplines. Hey, PS books are getting very hard find and there wont be anymore.. Grab it....in my book its a classic...

I just received my copy of the book today. I am waiting on 2 other books by this author. I like the collection of articles from the now discontinued journal. The first article about Tom Whitaker is very informative and provides perspective on a lifetime career in shooting. My goal as a gunsmith student will be to provide for the needs of great competitors such as Mr. Whitaker.

I have several short range books. Looking for good long range books.

I loved it and still pull it out once in a while. For me it is like a visit with old friends. I know so many of the authors and the subjects in them that it is like being at a reunion. Many things written about, I remember cause I was there and that is really cool.
It is dated, but out-dated. Gravity, velocity, burn rates, and sight alignment will never go out of date. I recommend it. I have bought two over the years as gifts to up and coming shooters

If you do not have an mentor, you better read everything you can get your hands on. An epiphany leaps out at you on occasion and really turns the light on for you Though you may have a hard time explaining that to anyone

If you want to read about the beginning of FC in the USA and have a few chuckles at the same time take a look at Chapter 11, “Farky” Shooting. Having just browsed through the 20 chapter pages for the first time since 2000 a.d., I was amazed at how things have changed and at the same time not changed. I can’t believe I have been shooting FC for 17 years, god I’m getting old.

The book also covers all the 1,000 yard disciplines shot 16 years ago and much of the data is still applicable. I think you will enjoy reading it if you can lay hands on a copy.

BTW, I agree with JohnMill on finding a high level mentor. That is the best way to winning scores.

I directly blame Larry's article in the book for getting me started doing more than shooting small furry critters. After moving from Nebraska to Washington state, and finding myself not getting nearly enough trigger time on rock chucks as compared to prairie dogs, I thought this F-class thing sounded like pretty good practice, at the very least
