I am writing to share my experience with Precision Rifle and Tool and Ray Bowman of Mebane, NC. For anyone looking for a place to have their custom rifle built, this is the place. PRT rifles, stocks, and barrels have been winning matches all over the country (and world for that matter) for the last few years. At least 2 documented national and world records are currently held using PRT guns and with the caliber of shooters using them, many more are sure to fall.
After researching for about a year and talking with a couple of very accomplished f-class shooters, I gave Ray a call and sent him specs for my new FTR project:
The rifle is built around a Borden Rimrock action. Precision Rifle and Tool FTR stock, Brux barrel, Jewel trigger and Nightforce optics complete the project. The accuracy is nothing short of phenomenal. I immediately picked up several points per match over my Savage Precision Target, and began to consistently finish very well at every match I attended. After 3 years of shooting, I scored my first clean score at 900 yards and one short of clean at 800 yards. It consistently will score in the 190's at 1000 (when I do my part) with the best score so far of 197 11x. It shoots under 1/2 moa across the board and tracks smooth and straight on the Phoenix bipod recommended by Ray.
I cant say enough about the customer service and quality product Precision Rifle and Tool provides. They are a great source for barrels, stocks, Berger bullets, and most any shooting supply one might need. If Ray doesn't carry it, he will put you in the right direction for the best product available and good people to deal with.
Finally, I want to thank Ray for the tools to help me win the Tennessee FTR championship this year, I feel his products and guidance put me over the top!
