Standard or featherweight? The standard has a screw hole under the sight boss on the barrel. The featherweight stock does not have a barrel screw hole.

Are you sure it is not the 300/375 H&H length box?

I thought all pre-64's were one action size.

All pre-64 actions are all the same size. They blocked the mag well and located the bolt stop at whatever position they needed to to handle the specific cartridge the rifle was chambered for.

All pre64 actions are the same size with the exception of the mag box and cutout on the h&h actions. The front of the mag box opening in the bottom of the action is opened up for the longer box.

This stock has an opening that is between 3.4-3.5”. The h&h length mag box is 3.6” inside and needs a slightly longer opening in the stock.

This stock is advertised as 95% inletted so some work will be required in any case. I wouldn’t think it would be much more work to inlet the longer box.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Could I talk you into contacting the maker and asking him how much to open it up for the 300 H&H length
magazine? I have a pre-64 300 H&H enroute and would 99% sure I would buy it form you. We cut a deal, I pay you; you send the stock back to them and have it lengthened.
The reason I ask, is I live in SW Idaho and the one gunsmith I would trust to do that work is 8 months back logged.

thanks, either way,

ISS

They are. Other cartridge specs dictated some differences in configuration, but one length action.
