Practical differences? LP Fuzion / Impact 737r

I can't find either to get behind or run the bolt on.

Both 90 degree throw, 2 lug, nitrided, cocking is split on lift and close, pretty much Ide tidal in looks and build...

Both veteran owned companies. Both designed to run in the dusty dirt of field comp/hunting scenarios...

Both on backorder...

Both withing $10 MSRP of eachother...

What's the practice difference, if any? LP works with AW, but readings tell me that isn't not be the best for reliability and to stick with single stack for either.

Anyone with experience with these have anything to add for differences or preference to either?

I can only speak from my experience with Impact precision. I have a 737R that is AW cut. I rarely run my AW mags anymore because of so many high round count stages, however It performs with both configurations (AI and AW) equally, and that is flawless. The biggest take away with an AW cut is not being able to run an internal box mag, which is a draw back for the hunting crowd. Dealing with Tate and his team is like your working with close friends or family. Top notch service. I have another AW action on order.

I would like to assume that lone peak operates their business in the same manner, and I have never heard anything to the contrary. I'm sure they make a great product as well.

I do enjoy speaking with Tate as well as Khiana, great folks. I hadn't really looked at the AW cut impact, was worried based on the note about it requiring extra gunsmithing (not sure where I read that). internal box mags not a factor for me, hunting with it, as long as I can find a few 3 rounders. have used a plug with a 5 rounder on a previous rifle, but didn't enjoy that mag length in the woods.

Thanka for the input

Tate and his crew are awesome to deal with as well as honest and straightforward. I am new to this style of shooting and was able to meet Tate and his crew. I have zero regret buying a Impact action.

Shooting a rifle of this level with excellent glass and loads, is humbling and leaves me wanting to learn more. I no longer question if my rifle and glass are of quality.

I will purchase actions and barrels from Impact for my sons for the once in a lifetime rifle.

I have a Impact 737R 6.5 Creedmore, 24” Bartlien M24, and Nightforce ATCAR, however the only thing I can compare it to is factory Remingtons and Colt Saurer so, my exposure is not very deep.

Happy Holidays!

I own both a fuzion and 737r. The fuzion is new and isn’t assembled yet so it’s only been dryfired in a stock with one of my 737 barrels on it for balance while waiting on my fuzion barrel.

The lone peak feels smoother if that’s any help to you. By a lot, not really but it is noticeable. It took a minute to break it in (100 cycles maybe) but the more I play with it the smoother it’s getting and with only 200-250 cycles on it, it’s already smoother then my 2600 round count impact. Like I said not a ton, but noticeable. No trigger hanger makes it easier to get stocks/chassis for as not all options out there allow a trigger hanger without modifications. The plus side to the trigger hanger is it’s easier to swap in the field only if you have a second hanger and trigger otherwise your back to hammer and punches then it makes no difference.

The bolt close on the lone peak is slightly lighter and lift is very similar. Too close to tell. I think at this moment I’d have to give the edge to the impact to be honest but that isn’t the general consensus when comparing these actions. I’m not sure if it’s just that my impact is well broken in and maybe it will change once the lone peak gets a few more cycles/rounds on it but as it stands now I’d give the bolt close to the lonepeak, and bolt lift to the impact both by just a hair.

Fit and finish isn’t exactly fair as I got my impact second hand. I did get to see my buddies new impact but I didn’t really inspect it, I’d say it’s probably pretty equal though. Both are phenomenal actions. Both are suppose to be flawless in any environment. Pick which one you prefer the look of at this point.

Impact barrels fit lone peaks but lone peak barrels don’t exactly work for impacts apparently so while there is more prefit options for impacts they will all work and headspace on the lone peak apparently. I know my 2 impact barrels fit my fuzion just fine.

It’s too early to say which I prefer as I don’t have any live fire on my fuzion but I’ve always wanted one so just based off that I think subconsciously I’ll prefer it. You can’t go wrong.

I've had one smith tell me that tolerances are a tad bit more consistent on the impact and that is why they prefer it but I'm not smart enough to know if that will translate into anything in the accuracy department, meaning I don't know how actions affect accuracy, my simple mind tells it should be just the chaber, but I understand it's not.
Thanks for the info, that checks with what I've read and had some feedback on from as far as smoothness and loft/close.

If I’m not mistaken that was a few years ago that lone peak changed a few things around and after a certain year/serial number all there actions are prefit compatible and held to excellent tolerances. I could be mistaken but if I’m remember correctly that’s been fixed for a few years Atleast.

I don't know if they fixed it, but LP had a few issues with extractors leading to ejected brass coming right back into the action. Something to research...

I own quite a handful of Impact actions (both 737r and 787r) and they are all superb. My primary 737r has over 13k+ rounds through it. It has seen more than a few seasons of rain, snow, moon dust, etc and just keeps running. The aftermarket support is superb (lots of prefit barrels).

All AW cut, although I run ARC/AICS mags.

You will not be disappointed by Impact. Their CS is great, I've met their whole family. So, maybe a bit biased.

Plus owning an Impact is 1/3rd of being an Okie

Had both, still have the Impact. They’re really very similar, and generally more of a feel/preference thing.

I have upwards of 15k rounds on the Impact between Creeds, BRs, and 223… I shot out one Creed barrel on the LP and sold it. Just didn’t do it for me.

Doesn't make my decision on a black or dark foundation any easier, two fantastic looking rifles there

LP Fuzion is 100/0 cocking while the Impact is 50/50.

Besides that both are very similar. Some complain about the "hitch" of the Impact, but that's probably not really noticable when actually shooting.

As for differences in the two, Impact 737R uses a trigger hanger, I'm thinking the Fuzion doesn't is the only significant configuration difference I'm aware of.
