Powder suggestions for 6gt coyote rifle

70-75gr bullet
Alpha brass
CCI no 400 primers

dedicated coyote rifle, hunting from Nov-March (cold). Average distance 80-200. I never shoot past 250

Let me know what powder you recommend.

Hodgdon website has data for 70gr. They are in the Varget range. Curious what imr3031 would do.

Varget would be the first powder I would try. It shoots in most of the BR sized cases and is very temp stable, which is very handy in cold weather. Good luck and keep us posted.

IMR 3031 is the best powder I have ever used in a .243, velocity and accuracy wise.

@ Lever,..
For 70-75 grain 6 mm Bullets,.. Might want to Keep, H-4895, in Mind also.
An H-4350 "Burn Rate" ( slower ) Powder, will probably, work Best w/ 95 grain or, Heavier weight, 6mm Bullets.
Varget and H-4895 would be, the First 2,.. I'd Try with, those Bullets and both are, Temp Stable.

N140 was way better than Varget in my last two. That was with 80s and 88s. H4350 is too slow for that weight bullet, but worked great with 108s for me.

I’d shoot the 70 varmageddon or 70 Blitzking. They’re really the only bullets in the 70-75 range that work.

I’d ditch the 400s and go with a Federal 205 or CCI 450.

70gr Speer TNTs have very good feedback for pummeling coyotes with minimal damage.

As stated, feedback I see on forums is very positive. I just had this rifle built and haven’t even picked it up so I can’t speak to the 70 Speer yet
