Powder scale/balance. New territory

I’ve always used my RCBS chargemaster and it has served me well. Lately I’ve been wanting to spend some money on something better. I just don’t know what that would be. Lots of scales and balances on the market several dispensing systems too. What do you fellas like. Money isn’t much of an issue but I don’t want to spend where there isn’t much of anything to gain either. I like nice equipment so I’m excited to come up with something here
Thanks

I've been using AnD FX120i for about six years now with several different powder droppers/tricklers, currently I'm using the V3 with Ingenuity Precision trickler and honestly I'm happy with this system and I probably have no reason to look into anything else BUT like you I like new shinny toys so I'm on the waiting list for the new IP Powder system and the Sartorious scale, I'm not sure if there's enough to gain to justify the $$$ but if I can shrink my groups just a tiny bit I guess it's worth the expense.

I originally thought about buying a newer RCBS dispenser and even asked about them here some time back. I’m just not sure I would gain anything. Even their higher priced system isn’t as accurate as one might think. So I hear anyway. I think a nice balance and some type of tricker system is what I’ll do. I just need to learn about them a bit

Go with a Scott Parker tunes scale-you will never regret it or ever go back to electronic scales.

I have an AutoThrow/AutoTrickler V3 on an FX-120i and am very satisfied with it, and see no benefit to "upgrading" to a V4. Lots of folks went with the newest and shiniest toy, so V3 setups can be found on the for sale forums for considerably less than a new V4.

This is strictly anecdotal, but on occasion, I have pre loaded for VFS Matches, (30BR), using my Denver Electronics Scale which has true resolution to “hundredths” of a grain.

But most of the time I load at the range with my ChargeMaster Lite which probably has a real world resolution of +- a tenth or so.

Truth is, I cannot really tell the difference on the target.

However, some really good shooters go to extremes in equipment to insure that every charge, whether at home or at a Match, are within a hundredth of a grain of each other.

Another vote for Ingenuity for sure. I got a Autotrickler V3 auto throw on top an A&D FX120i with the Ingenuity trickler. The Ingenuity trickler is slick and flat out works. Way better than the v3 Autotrickler. No experience with the Autotrickler V4 unit. But if I didn't have the rock solid setup I have currently, I would be going with the Ingenuity thrower/trickler that just came out. It's worth a look...

I replaced an old, reliable, Pact scale and dispenser a couple years ago with a new Chargemaster. I don't think I had the new Chargemaster 6 months before I ordered a new AutoTrickler V4. I've been totally satisfied. To my way of thinking, the Chargemaster was a waste of money.

I use a chargemaster and a Parker tuned scale with a power trickle set up. I also have a webcam set up on my parker scales to get a better view of the needle.

There are times I'll just use the chargemaster. Now that I have the garmin xero I can tell you the ES and SD numbers are higher if I don't use the Parker scale. For some applications that matters, others it don't. Mostly I can't see much on paper at 300 or in but after that seems to play a bigger role.

If I could only have one the Parker tuned scales would be it.

Much of this comes down to whether you do your loading at the range or at your house.

As I said before, if at the house, a very high resolution scale might be a good choice.

At the range, it can be an exercise in futility unless extraordinary measures are taken.

I load at the range 99% of the time. So this is my setupIMG_0048.jpeg

I preloaded some glass vials with N133 at home before going to the range. I got them within two or three kernels to see how low I could get the ES. For six groups the spreads were 20, 3, 7, 56, 27 & 7. The brass all had the same number of firings and were sized the same, but I noticed some bullets seated harder than others. I suspect variances in brass cause this.
