Alliant Sport Pistol is a good one.
We’re customers…I would be more inclined to ask the customers.
Yes - very true. There was a long-time gun/ammo shop in town (owner since died and shop closed), where he had most anything one wanted - at about 10%-20% above normal retail price. Never once had a sale, no "loss leaders" and no deals whatsoever. No mailers to good customers - nothing. But if you really needed something - he was only a few miles away and you knew he had what you needed. He made a comfortable living for decades using this rather narrow-minded approach to retail. If you have it - they WILL come - just not regularly. From your own experience and what others have posted you pretty much now know what the leaders are and of course they are hard to get. From my perspective I would put those at the top of my list and some of the less popular alternatives towards the bottom of the list. Even if I had to pay a premium to get the leaders I would and then price them down at loss leader prices or near to it. In retailing it's easy to get people into a new shop the first time, the trick is to get them to come back. Having stock on the shelves is one prime reason they will return. Everyone knows prices are high and maybe getting higher, yet when you get something like H4350 or H4895 on the shelf it will not last. Buyers will bitch about the price, yet many will pay it and lowering your price to get them in the door will reduce the sting. Retail is a pricing game and loses on one item can be made up for profit on another if you get them in the door make them feel like family and have stock on the shelfs.
