Powder error or consistency change?

Hi everyone, i made 2 load 1 using cfe 223 and one using imr 3031.
The imp 3031 powder have large grain and cfe 223 very fine one.
I had a problem on sizing some case load marked imr 3031, when i removed de bullet and drop the powder the grain were really fine.
I wonder if imr 3031 change from large grain to fine grain or if i messed somewhere else.
Do anyone have unloaded imr 3031 load before?

IMR-3031 is an extruded, single-base powder. It has been around for many decades. No, it certainly doesn't change shape or size.

If you pulled a fine-grain powder from a cartridge labelled as "IMR-3031"... something is seriously amiss.

Ok,
I marked 3 of each. 3 with IMR 3031 and 3 WIth cfe 223. But when i removed the bullet from the 3 marked IMR 3031..The powder was really fine. I will remove the 3 others to se if i put my idendification on wrong sides.

Yeah i will check both..No choice...
I have been lucky that i had sizing error too...
But i was really surprise when i removed the first bullet and not saw large grain powder...

Slow way down.

You should never have more than one powder out on a loading session at a time, that means the whole job all the way past seating the bullets and finishing the labels and the notes.

I know that sounds a little basic, but it is also a very important policy whenever you are intentionally planning to explore more than one recipe.

This is one of the most common ways to have a serious accident and is a basic tenant of reloading, even for experts. Beginners like yourself, who don't have the benefit of someone with experience to get you started, should really take that advice to heart.

Regionrat covered it very well .
His first sentence is very important
This is not a race.
One powder on the bench should never be deviated from
If nothing else when you’re done loading and need to empty whatever powder dispenser you use, there is no doubt where it goes.

Yes,
I am not rushing hehe. I understand that you tought i mixed the powder on my loads. But i had not 2 powder at the same time on the bench... I made 3 round of 60 gr bullet with imr 3031 with is specification and i did 3 rounds with the same bullet with cf223 with is specification they were both set to same velocity to compare both powder with same set up. I have mix 1 round in each finally. Probably when i did a final check i probably moved 2 rounds and misplaced them. So 1 round were inverted in both. Anyway i opened all 6 not to take a chance and i found the other one with the other powder in the other batch. So they had not really dangerous thing that might happen. But i asked cause the first round i opened was one of the mixed one. But tanks for the answers.

When exploring developmental loads in small quantities that might get mixed, it is useful to use a Magic Marker directly on the individual cases to prevent mixing them.
