powder choices

I looked up data on a Nosler 125 30 caliber bullet, as I have a 308 win that has a slow twist barrel. It's not a BR rifle just a plinker I guess. The Nosler book listed WIN 748 as the most accurate for the 125 grain bullet. They had a load for a 110 grain bullet I can't remember if it was also a 308WIN or a 300blackout and a load for 308 win with a 150 grain bullet748 was not even on the list for the 110 grain or the 150 grain. If it was so good with the 125 grain would it not even get an honorable mention with the others?

While I can't say for sure in this particular example, it is the norm to see the bullet manufacturers use a lot of different powders, omitting a powder for a particular bullet weight when in other manuals that same powder might be listed as the accuracy load with that given bullet. Consider what a few of the other manuals list for their 125 grain jacketed bullets using W748:

Hornady 125 SST 43.1 TO 50.0
Sierra 125 SPT. 42.8 TO 50.2
Berger 125 45.5 TO 51.4
LYMAN 125 JSP 45.4 TO 51.2 (ALSO LISTED W748 AS MOST ACCURATE POWDER TESTED)

Winchester 748 starting load with Sierra 110 grain varmint bullets is extremely accurate at 100 yards in my Winchester M70 heavy barrel .308
