Potential primer scam

FORUM BOSS: YES the site described below is fraudulent. Sadly there are many on the Internet and probably new ones created on a weekly basis. We strongly recommend that you NEVER EVER attempt to purchase from an unknown site like this. Do not be a fool. Stick with known, trusted vendors. You will find the button links at the top of every Forum page.

While searching for primers today, I came across royalammoshop.com

They claim to have CCI large rifle primers. They only accept certain payment types - Zelle, PayPal (F&F only), Bitcoin, etc. that was a red flag for me. They didn’t charge hazmat either - red flag #2.

I contacted them via their chat system and asked where they are, just to get a feel for their real-ness.
I’m attaching pictures of the chat for your amusement.

be careful out there.

I saw one of these too. Some other random site.

If they have multiple primer types in stock, then that's a red flag by itself.

Also, Google mapping the location is also helpful. If you can't find a gun shop, then it's also probably a scam. You should be able to call them up and talk with them.

Found a different legit store: https://riversportsman.com/

They had some redding competition shell holders that were out of stock everywhere. Found them in a store in Canada, and spoke to the guy on the phone and asked very specific questions after Google mapping their shop. Was legit...but they can't sell primers or powder to the US.

FYI. Wolverine GT in Canada has an arrangement with IRunGuns to export primers to the US.
[Yeah, name sounds really hokey - I did a bunch of due diligence before placing an order last Fall].
Last Fall, Canada stilll had a bunch of primers - bought 9000 from Wolverine GT. Net cost was just at 8 cents per. Took 3 months with their getting an export permit then an import permit from ATF.

I thought PayPal was legit? What am I missing ? Scary crap out there
They ask for F&F. PayPal Friends and Family is how you can give $$ to friends. It‘s use imply s that there is no expectatio of exchange for goods or services and PP loses fees. If you use F&F for transactions you have zero, nothing, nada as recourse with PP. You sent them $$ as a gift. And because of the PP firearms policy they will likely interpret anything you bought as a violation of their Ts and Cs you get nothing from them.

No credit card? No way.
On the first one, the address they provide is shown on google maps as Unicomer Texas, a Garden Shop.

Gotta ask yourself - how would a noname store have primers in stock longer than one of the major vendors [e.g., Midway, Brownells, etc]

Anyone ever heard of these 2 websites ? They both say they have BR4's, minimum order of $200.00, no credit cards accepted ?

Last night I found primers in the barrelammodepot.com site. Prices were the cheapest I have seen in a while and they claimed to have both primers and powder in stock. I added some primers to the basket and started the check-out process. I deleted the transaction once I did a google search and found out that the website was created just in February 2021/

Went to googlemaps and the location is an abandoned store. Definitely a scam
