Potential New F/O National Record shot in Lodi

Nodak7mm

Team Lefse
I plagerized the post from Jim See with his blessings. This is per Jim..

"Last weekend Winnequah Gun Club in Lodi Hosted the Long Range Regional Palma Match.
On Sunday Ryan Pierce broke the existing record set by Robert Bock in 08 of 449-33x, at the 8-9-1000 yard match.
Ryan shot a clean 450 with twenty some x's not sure on the exact count.
Pending any other submissions I believe this will be a new record.

Congrats Ryan, your a heck of a shooter, keep up the good work.

I witnessed the 900 and 1000 yard string and had the pleasure of signing the score card on the 1000 yard string, it was amazing to watch and see Ryan so excited about accomplishing this"

I will add, Great shooting by an awesome up-coming shooter in the F-Class arena, definitley a force to be reckoned with (I know he'd smoke my butt. Wait, most do.... But you get the gist... ;) )!!

Here's a few pix Jim shared with me.

Thats pretty awsome! Whats the rig specs?

I dont have the skinny, wasnt there and dont want to mess up the real story... I am hoping Ryan or Jim chip in here with more details. I think we definitely need to hear from Ryan, I hear he was pretty stoked.... ;)

top pic is of Ryan's 1000 yard target, him and the gun. 2 sighters were 9's and the rest 10s and Xs. As the string went on he started flirting with the bottom of the 10 ring. Those pasters were removed to validate that they were indeed solid 10's as you can see in the pics.

The bottom pic was of Ryans 800 and 900 yard string on the same target, due to the rain delay, and some relay jockeying, he ended up being the last shooter at 800 and the first shooter at 900, all on a clean target. So when he hit the pitts he took the picture, not knowing what was in his near future. 800 was unlimited sighters, thus a few shots out of the 10 ring, 2 sighters allowed at 9 and 1000. Ended with a 450-24x

Ryan can fill in the blanks but as far as equipment a Brux 32" in 284 win, I think he had around 1300 round on it. Ray Bowman stock, Berger 180 Hy.

I was holding the other side of the target and cracking a funny :P when Rita took the pics, thus the admiring gaze to the right ???

I shot next to Ryan a few strings in Phoenix. He shot consistently and well, particularly at 1000. It is good to see this record broken, it was overdue and Ryan deserves it. Congratulations.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the congrats. Build specs are as follows. Bat m action. Brux 32" 1-9 twist. Ray Bowman f-open stock. Nightforce nxs 12-42. Jewell trigger. The barrel has 1300 rounds through it. All the metal and stock work was done by me. I had actually debated using my 6br last weekend but didnt and used up my last box of 180 hybrids. They are seated .025 off the lands with 56.0 gr of 4831sc and a br2 primer. its running 2900. I had 1 1/2 min of wind on and was favoring another half minute. I had excellent pit service, 6 seconds, by Jeff Dick. I knew he was fast so I figured lets rock and roll. I was done in 3-3.5 minutes. Rod is right I was pretty stoked. Halfway through the relay I started shaking pretty bad. After my last shot came up a 10 I was all smiles and couldnt believe Id shot the 450. Again thanks for the congrats guys.

Ryan -- serious congrats for the great shooting. Thanks to Jim See and others, I've put this story up on the Daily Bulletin.

Give me a ring when you can. Would like to add an audio clip to the story. (Easy to do -- I can explain).

Man, I love it when Forum members set records and win championships -- been happening a lot lately, actually.

Ryan is 23 yrs old, he will be a great ambassador for our country. I see him as the leader of things to come! The bar has been raised!
