Post '64 Winchester short action questions

Hello,
I have a Post '64 Winchester Heavy Varmint in .223, serial # starts with G21xxxxx
I'm thinking about having it rebarreled to 308. I'm fairly sure this is possible, just wondering if it is going to be too difficult to find new parts for it...I've done a search on this site, and other posters have said Winchester isn't selling parts anymore...if I can't get parts, then I may just have to stay in the 223 family of cases and find a different donor action...
I know the bolt face can be opened up to .473", but it will need a new extractor, and will the 223 ejector work for the 308? It will need a new follower, new mag spring, new mag box, as the 223 mag box has a spacer in it...I know Jewell makes a trigger, but don't see it in stock at midway or brownells...nor are any of these parts I'd need at those sources...is there an aftermarket source for bolts like PT&G does for remington?
Thanks,
Ken

Winchester sold all the parts to Gun Parts.........

I know they don't show bolts in stock but most other stuff is here.....

Keep your eye on Gunbroker and ebay for the bolt body.......

If your action is a short push feed you are going to have trouble finding a .473 bolt. A while back Gun Parts had push feed small case bolts and I bought one for a .223 to 6BR conversion. Wanted to keep the original bolt for small calibers. The ejector would most likely work as is, or if it is a competiton rifle you could simply leave it out. I drew up plans for plugging the existing extractor holes and locating new one for 308. You could also install a Sako style or mini 16 extractor.
Thats as far as I got and it went on the back burner.
Looks like Numrich still has them http://www.gunpartscorp.com/ad/259360.htm
I don't think PTG is making push feed bolts.

Back when the push feed M70 was king of NRA highpower, those short actions were plentiful. Now, the parts people need to be brought up to speed on the action details and length. There is no shortage of 30-06 length .473 push feed bolts.

"I don't know why PT&G couldn't make one..........."

If and when there is a market for them (not one or two) I'm sure the enterprising Mr. Kiff will tool up to make them. Maybe Jon could make you one.
