Possibly a stupid die question...

Pardon my ignorance, but I have a question on dies. I reload for many rifles, and mostly use rcbs, hornady, lee collet, redding, and bonanza BR dies. I recently got my first set of Whidden dies for a 6 dasher. I have found that I mostly do not have to use imperial sizing wax for FL sizing with this die. (I still put a TINY bit on about every sixth piece of brass as I'm scared I'll get one stuck, but I don't think I actually have to)

Is this normal for Whidden dies? I have one Redding FL die for a 6ppc that I don't seem to need it either, but that's it.

Thoughts?

My whidden dasher dies require minimal lube. I got a little lazy and started using spray case lube and have jammed a few up there until I realized how I was causing the problem(too much lube). I went back to rolling them on a RCBS case lube mat and havent had an issue since.

The custom dies are so smooth - slicker than snail snot!

I use a little dab of Imperial for the same reason - don't want to fool with a stuck case on the off chance it would happen.

I don't think it has to do with the brand of die, more about how much work the die is doing. your goal is consistent brass and if you need wax, use it. if you skip 5 and then wax number 6, are the middle ones just as consistent or should you use a tiny amount each time.

I feel like they are all getting sized to the same dimensions, its just a little less effort to size the lubed ones. Maybe I'm incorrect on this???
