Ponsness-Warren press?

Anyone know anything about this press? A guy I shoot with is selling some of his father's reloading stuff and offered to sell this press to me. I almost said no immediately because I have no need for another press, but I decided to look it up first. I must say, it's kind of unique and I might buy it just to have it.

It's kind of like a turret press with 5 die spots. The shell holder mechanism moves and the dies stay stationary.

All I know is what I've read from the manufacturer literature. But I'm curious if anyone has hands on experience with it and if it's a good quality press.

No experience with their metallic loading equipment, in fact I didn't know they made it, but their shotshell presses are the gold standard. I've spent a bit of time behind one and they are a pleasure to load on and I normally consider shotshell loading more of a chore.

I repaired a PW shotshell press once and the basic mechanism here looks to be the same. They’re quite interesting and well made.

Looks to be a progressive like their 475 shotshell model. I have a couple of PW shotshell presses and as has been said, they are the gold standard.

I have that press exactly. Currently I load 3006 garand ammunition on it. It takes some getting used to, and is not as fast as a dillon. I love mine, and would jump at the chance to get another at a reasonable price.

Thanks all. He's asking $200...I'm supposed to see him next weekend, if it's in good shape I'm going to grab it. I guess I'll make room for it somehow.

I also have a " Metallic II ". Great press they have a die and different bushings to just drop in the bullet and it gets perfect alignment.

The primer feed is a little different, but you can call PW for anything you need.

I've loaded 38 special, 30-30, 303 British, 270, 308. and 30.06 with the Ponsness Warren. Hundred thousands of them.

Top-of-the-line press.

I have a Ponsness Warren Duo-Matic 375 on my loading bench. My dad bought it when he did a lot of trapshooting. On my press, the shell holder is moved around under the dies as each step in the process is performed. About six pulls of the handle for a completed 12 gauge round. And I'll echo what has been stated here a few times, these are the Cadillac of shotshell presses. Their motto used to be "We don't reload, we REMANUFACTURE".
I did my first ever reloading on that press in the early 1970s, and with some ergonomic positioning of the components, it'll still do 100 rounds in a half hour.
