Poll: Fclass shooters

I would never use anything other than an arbour press for seating bullets. Of the 18 calibres I shoot, I only have a regular (well not sure if regular is the correct term) seating die for one calibre (17 Rem).
I don't see how anyone can get a reasonable feedback on seating force with a press meant for resizing tough cases, wrong tool for the job. (then again, now I anneal regularly, seating force is always so consistent)
I currently use a K&M arbour press with force measurement, but I will gladly accept any 21st Century hydroseaters which anyone wants to donate to a good cause.

IMO, it is just as important to know how well people using some particular reloading setup are routinely performing in competition as it is to know what equipment they are using. I think you can see from the answers you received it is possible to produce very high quality ammunition capable of winning matches with a wide array of reloading setups, ranging from fairly simple, to quite sophisticated. As with many things in F-Class, how much one can get out of a certain tool or piece of equipment often has a great deal to do with the individual themselves, not just the particular piece of equipment. Some make more with less, some make more with more. Regardless of how you choose to get there, the ultimate goal should be that the shooter is the sole limiting factor in performance; not the rifle setup, and not the ammunition.

Sinclair Arbor Press and Wilson Seating dies for seating bullets. Lyman Orange Crusher and special Whidden Gunworks FL dies (without expander ball assemblies) for sizing. K&M expander mandrels for standardizing case necks...F-Open.

Exactly what I use apart from a Haydon arbor press with force measurement gauge. Works in the Southern Hemisphere as well as the northern!

I use a Wilson die and a hammer... Go figure ;)

Seriously, I seat in two separate operations (three if you count the pre-seating checks). None of which makes my ammo any better - I promise :D

A "hammer"...I do it with a short handle rubber mallet occasionally, especially in the field.

This from a shooter that walks the walk.

I use an OLD Rockchucker press and Redding or Whidden dies.

Same here.......1975 US iron Rockchucker and Whidden Micrometer seating dies. Starting to use the Dillon more and more for batch work........

FTR - Currently using a 21st Century Hydro with Wilson die. I just started using it this year, so I don't quite have enough time on it to determine if it's helped me on the target. Was using a Forster micrometer die and Co-Ax prior to this.

I'm just going to start shooting f/tr this year so it might not matter but I use a arbor press and Wilson die.

I would really like to see someone do a comparison on paper with different dies. I have seen people compare different ones on a bench but never saw what it would translate to on the target. I talked to a guy a few years back the shot Master in 1000 yard palma. He said threw powder with a Harrell and seated his bullets using a Lee hand press and a Lee seating die. He told be the biggest thing he recommended was to load them long and do the final seating the day of the match. Ever since then I wondered if we all go crazy with this equipment or if he could have shot that much better using higher quality stuff.
