Pointing 6.5mm VLDs?

I just got the Whidden die to try pointing 140 Berger vld's. I'm just wondering how you guys are going as far as the adjustment on the die? I thought I was seeing a slight bulge at the base of the point when I went to .040" so I backed it off to .030 and loaded them up to try. Does this sound ballpark for the 140 vld? Thanks.

MDM,
.030 is what measurement? I use a Whidden pointer exclusively and I try and keep the dimension of the 1st angle caused by the pointing tool to be as close as possible to the dimension if the meplat or point of the bullet. If you are causing a bulge, you are going to far.
I hope this helps,
Lloyd

By .030, I mean that how far I'm adjusting the micrometer top from the bullet just touching. What I'm asking is how far are guys adjusting the die down from the point the bullet just makes contact with the die? I got a little bulge at .040", so I backed off to .030" and all is well. Anyone have any experience pointing the 6.5 vld with the Whidden?
