Pleasantly surprised at Ramshot's 6.5x47 data

Neat to compare to the other 6.5's when comparing apples to apples bullets and Big Game.

Agreed- yet the 260 data looks ......'Weak' in comparison...surely more potential but perhaps that powder finds a 'sweet spot' in a smaller 6.5 case? I know the 47 is a better design, no doubt.

Thanks for sharing Alan - good stuff.

I do prefer the 6,5x47L over the 260Rem, but the 120 X bullet may be biasing the data I'm guessing. Most agree the 260 can run a little faster, although it burns 2-4 grains to produce equivalent speed. This equates to more recoil, heat and $.

Whats interesting to compare it to, is cases like the 270 win, who can only beat it by 100 ft/sec with the 130's. with 19 more grains of powder!

47 no doubt is very efficient. Not an 'apples to apples' comparison in this data due to varying bullets for given weight. No doubt, users are often matching speeds w/lighter weights.
