Yesterday after feeding the cows I had some daylight left so I grabbed the TC Encore out of the truck and went to the shooting bench to get a few groups in. I had picked up a box of 60 gr Nosler Partitions and had loaded 10 rds in 223 to try.
This rifle is set up to shoot 40 gr V-Maxes so I was suprised when the 60 grainers shot to exactly the same point of aim. I wasn't sure that the 60 grain bullets would stabilize out of this barrel,1 in 12 twist I suspect ) at 223 velocities.
This my truck gun at present and it is what I use to control everything from coyotes and stray dogs to wild hogs. I wanted something in the way of a bullet that was better suited for the hogs, hence the Patitions.
I have had rifles that shot different brands of bullets but the same weight to the same point of aim. So for a bullet that is 50% heavier to shoot to the same point of aim is pretty cool.
Anyone else had this experience?
