I dvr everything I watch. Vue answered this need well at a decent price.
Now they are leaving the market and I need another service.
You tube tv seems to be the closest thing out there.

What do you use to dvr tv & movies ?

I don't record anything, but wouldn't it be cost effective to purchase a dvr console? $100- $150.? I dont have cable anymore. $200 a month & there was never anything good on, just crap! I figured $200 a month was better spent on more guns and ammo. I have HD antenna (26 channels) I watch Pluto tv(free app) through ps4. Bunch of tv channels (100 channels?) , movies, shows etc. Tubi tv, Crackle. Tons of tv & entertainment for$0 a month! Figured buying a dvr may be an affordable option if you want to record some things.?

If you have satelite service, they offer dvr's in the package, can set it to record entire program series with 2 clicks of the record button, or the guide option will show "repeats" if there is a recording conflict. I can record 2 programs at once (sat tuner has two channels) but have to watch one, or record one and watch another program. Can even record 2 and watch a recorded program at the same time. I set mine to record the repeats on most channels so I can surf the channels during commercials, drives the wifey over the edge sometimes.

I have Direct TV and it's ok for my needs. However, it seems that if one cloud forms in the sky the signals start going wacko.

Raining for the next few days here. Satellite tv sucks :)
Trying out a couple free month ...

Must be lucky with Directv, the only time we lose sat signal is during a very heavy rainstorm that is SW from our house, might lose the signal for 2 min or 15 min being the longest I remember. Pricey yes, but I don't have HBO, Cienamax or any of that other stuff.

I ditched cable 2 years ago. I have a broadcast antenna in the attic, internet via phone wires (AT&T), Roku stick and a DVR. The only broadcast TV I watch is news, or a sporting event like World Series or F-1 race which starts here tomorrow.

I think my total monthly outlay is about $55

I have to say that it was very refreshing to get away from the Hollywood formula TV, very predictable, very un-original. We mostly watch indi-films, BBC TV, some HBO original stuff, and Youtube. Once I detoxed from the Hollywood mind F**K and after viewing higher quality shows, my first reaction to viewing local commercial TV is who would watch this crap?!

Apologies if I've offended anyone.
