I don't record anything, but wouldn't it be cost effective to purchase a dvr console? $100- $150.? I dont have cable anymore. $200 a month & there was never anything good on, just crap! I figured $200 a month was better spent on more guns and ammo. I have HD antenna (26 channels) I watch Pluto tv(free app) through ps4. Bunch of tv channels (100 channels?) , movies, shows etc. Tubi tv, Crackle. Tons of tv & entertainment for$0 a month! Figured buying a dvr may be an affordable option if you want to record some things.?I dvr everything I watch. Vue answered this need well at a decent price.
Now they are leaving the market and I need another service.
You tube tv seems to be the closest thing out there.
What do you use to dvr tv & movies ?
Johnny
I ditched cable 2 years ago. I have a broadcast antenna in the attic, internet via phone wires (AT&T), Roku stick and a DVR. The only broadcast TV I watch is news, or a sporting event like World Series or F-1 race which starts here tomorrow.
I think my total monthly outlay is about $55
I have to say that it was very refreshing to get away from the Hollywood formula TV, very predictable, very un-original. We mostly watch indi-films, BBC TV, some HBO original stuff, and Youtube. Once I detoxed from the Hollywood mind F**K and after viewing higher quality shows, my first reaction to viewing local commercial TV is who would watch this crap?!
Apologies if I've offended anyone.
At our house with the wife and 4 kids use Netflix, amazon prime , and YouTube. We have yet to run out of things to watch. Right at 22$ a month of subscriptions plus internet cost.
